But we're back up and running and have trips this weekend! Saturday, Sunday, and Monday still need some people to get off the dock. We're going to be targeting rockfish and lingcod for the most part. And we will be doing a Halibut Special on Wednesday! Also, Sunday is 'Kids' Fish Free Day'. Tim checked in for the Californian out of Ventura Harbor Sportfishing. We had pretty decent fishing with a good group in nice weather. We started off rockfishing in the morning, and ended up knocking those out. We then went into the shallows and caught 20 or 30 whitefish, a few sheephead, a dozen bass, 18 bonito, a halibut, and 1 yellowtail for our 29 guys today. Daniel checked in for the Island Spirit out of Ventura Harbor Sportfishing. We had a pretty nice day of fishing. Our 30 anglers caught 181 rockfish, 78 whitefish, 9 sculpin, 6 bonito, 3 lingcod, 3 sheephead, 2 halibut, 1 cabezon, and 1 calico bass. We spent the first part of our day bottom fishing and caught some nice quality rockfish, and then went inside to the island at the end of the day and fished by the kelp. We ended up with 22 halibut, 7 calico bass 5 sole, 2 rockfish, and 2 whitefish. It was really good halibut fishing with steady action all day.
